New Zealand’s South Island
For such a large area of land the population of the South Island is sparse at just over 1 million. Perhaps that’s what makes it such a great place to explore. Huge mountain ranges, vast lakes, countryside and a rugged coastline provide a feast for the eyes. There are few places where you can drive from tropical beaches through temperate rainforest and up to the base of an alpine glacier.
These are some of my favourite images (there are many more!) taken over the three years spent living in Queenstown.
